Gardaí investigating the death of a man in Cork at the weekend have made an arrest.
Patsy Deasy died after being assaulted during a row outside a pub.
57-year-old Mr. Deasy died after struck during an incident outside the Red Cove Inn in Mahon in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Cork City Council worker underwent emergency surgery at Cork University Hospital.
He is believed to have been assaulted and then hit his head off the ground and died on Monday afternoon.
Gardaí launched an investigation into the assault and have today arrested a man in his mid-20s in the Mahon area.
He is currently being held at the Bridewell Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
