Astronaut Chris Hadfield will be honoured by the city of Dublin. The awards recognise individuals who have made a special contribution to Dublin and its citizens.
Lord Mayor Naoise O'Muiri feels the Canadian astronaut is the "obvious choice" for the award after he tweeted breathtaking photos of Ireland and Dublin from space to almost 1 million Twitter followers.
Hadfield's daughter Kristen is a student at Trinity College and will accept the award on behalf of her father.
The 53-year-old Canadian astronaut landed safely in Kazakhstan last Tuesday after a 5-month mission in space.
He gained a huge following on Twitter posting stunning pictures of our planet from space - including images of Ireland on St. Patrick's Day, showing what happens when you cry in space, lessons on how to take a photo from space and how to recycle urine.
Most recently he wrote about an ammonia leak the ISS was experiencing.
He also made history by recording the first ever music video made in space. He covered the David Bowie classic 'Space Oddity'.
