Asylum seekers have contacted Gardaí after an attack on their tents in Dublin city centre last night.
The 15 asylum seekers were reportedly forced to flee their tents on the Dublin quays after a group of people arrived with weapons.
They say around eight to 10 people descended on the area where they were sleeping, while others stood outside their tents.
It is understood the 15 men had made their way from Phibsborough after being moved on from another makeshift camp there.
Last night, this same group of men allegedly had their tents slashed by knives and pipes.
Many had their documents thrown into the River Liffey.
Gardaí in Pearse Street responded to the reports of criminal damage and investigations are ongoing.
The men are all giving statements at Pearse Street Garda station this lunchtime.
