At least 10 people have been killed after a vehicle hit a crowd of people celebrating New Year's Eve in New Orleans, emergency officials have said.
Another 30 people have been injured in the incident which took place on the corner of Bourbon Street in the city's popular French quarter.
The incident occurred at around 3am local time.
NOLA, the city's emergency preparedness campaign described the incident as a "mass casualty incident" and urged people to stay away from the area.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry said the incident is a "horrific act of violence" in a post on X.
Mr Landry also warned people to stay away from the scene.
