At least 39 people have died after a passenger ferry capsized in Bangladesh.
It reportedly collided with a trawler on the river Padma with more than 100 people on board. The ferry is said to have been travelling to Paturia from Daulatdia in Rajbari
Around 50 passengers have been saved, with rescuers continuing the search for more survivors.
More than half of the dead are women and children.
Police have seized the trawler and arrested the captain and his two crew.
Reuters reports that Shajahan Khan - the shipping minister - has said that a probe committee has been been set up and directed to find out the reasons for the crash within a week.
