Attorney General Paul Gallagher has announced he will be stepping down.
Mr Gallagher assumed the role of the State’s chief law officer in June 2020 when the current coalition was formed.
Addressing the Supreme Court today, Mr Gallagher wished Supreme Court Judge John MacMenamin well for his retirement and revealed that it would also be his last address before the court in his current role.
Mr Gallagher is a Senior Counsel and specialised in commercial and constitutional law in private practice; he previously served as Attorney General under Bertie Ahern.
