Three other stores - in Liffey Valley, Dundrum and the Crescent in Limerick will re-open on the 12th.

The music and film retailer closed all 16 of its outlets here last January after going into receivership.

Hilco Ireland bought the company from the receiver and is now preparing to re-open four stores.

Chief Executive Larry Howard says some changes have been made:Every gift voucher redeemed by new HMV this Friday will see a donation made to charity.

Its new owners, Hilco Ireland, say they’ll honour old vouchers and will also make a donation to the Laura Lynn Foundation.
