That's according to "The Good Enough to Eat" global index published by Oxfam.
In a survey of over 125 countries worldwide, Ireland is ranked 12th and received top marks in term of places to eat healthily.
The research examined four areas, Do people have enough to eat?, Can people afford to eat?, Is food of good quality? and What are the health outcomes of people's diet? - this last one was measured by levels diabetes and obesity in each country.
Deborah Hardoon is senior researcher at Oxfam, she says that while Ireland is among the top 10 per cent of countries on the index, there's still room for improvement:
