A new child-parent report has found that parents of children with difficult temperaments may be less sensitive towards their children.
The latest 'Growing up in Ireland' study - which will be launched by the Minister for Children today - investigates infants' development at nine months and how their progress is associated with parenting.
The research also found that parents suffering from high levels of stress are less likely to show sensitive characteristics.
