Three Irishmen have been charged in Australia in connection to AU$1 million (€600,000) worth of theft.
The men, who are 19, 24 and 25, allegedly stolen items including cash, jewellery and designer handbags.
In a statement, Victoria Police said the trio were “allegedly responsible for over 60 home burglaries” in suburbs across Melbourne.
“The majority of these offences occurred while the occupants were away from their homes,” the statement said.
“After breaking into homes, the trio allegedly used cleaning products in an attempt to cover their tracks.”
The three men will appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court tomorrow.
“Your home should be your sanctuary - Victoria Police simply will not stand for anyone who seeks to enter someone else’s home and takes what’s not theirs,” Detective Senior Sergeant Brendon Pollock said.
“We will continue to target serious and organised crime groups, no matter where they’re from."
There are around 27,000 young Irish people in Australia on temporary visas.
