Launched a month ago, the Australian tourism authority has received 515,308 applications from more than 287,000 people.
Six applicants will be chosen to move to Australia and receive $100,000 (almost €80,000). The six jobs are a park ranger, a lifestyle photographer, a taste master, a chief funster, a wildlife caretaker and an outback adventurer.
For example, you could put yourself in the running for chief funster for New South Wales, based in Sydney. If that doesn’t suit, there is also a six month contract as ‘taste master’ in Western Australia, or as the job spec puts it: “eat your way around the state”.
The idea behind the campaign is to put the Working Holiday Visa Maker Programme on the radar of 18 to 30 year olds that are thinking about working and travelling in the country.
Tourism Australia’s regional general manager Rodney Harrex said: "The huge response to the 'Best Jobs' recruitment drive, and the increasing demand for Working Holiday Visas shows that young Brits are looking to live the Aussie lifestyle, swapping the challenging economic environment here for a new adventure down under."
