Police in Australia have released CCTV footage as the investigation continues into the disappearance of an Irish woman in Melbourne.

29-year-old Jill Meagher has not been seen since leaving a bar in the Brunswick area of the city in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The video released appears to show a man in a blue hoodie speaking to Jill on the street.

Police there have urged him to come forward.

Detectives are also appealing for 5 other people seen on the tape to contact them.

Homicide detectives investigating her disappearance returned to the home she shares with her husband Tom for a second search yesterday.

Her handbag was located in a laneway off Hope Street on Monday morning.

Police are still trying to ascertain whether the handbag was missed by police in the initial search or whether it was placed there after the initial search.

Jillian is described as being of a fair complexion, 165cm tall, slim build, long curly black hair and brown eyes.

She was wearing a blue dress, black jacket, black patterned stockings and high heels.
