Joss Whedon has been hired again as boss of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and their superhero friends for a sequel to The Avengers.

Disney executives have confirmed the filmmaker is returning to write and direct Avengers 2 – adapted from the comic-book tales.

He’s also helping to develop a Marvel-based TV series for ABC.
