The Taoiseach Enda Kenny is in Brussels today for a Summit of EU Leaders. The meeting will focus on reviewing economic policy and promoting jobs and growth.
Leaders will also look at the progression of legislative proposals relating to the banking union.
The main focus of this meeting will be on economic policy including the conclusion of the first phase of the European Semester process for 2013. Leaders will also review the Compact for Growth and Jobs, on-going work on completion of the Single Market and progress on the legislation for the banking union.
The Council will also discuss the EU strategic partnership with Russia.
Mr. Kenny will also attend a Euro Summit meeting which will take stock of the economic situation in the Euro area. He will also co-chair the Tripartite Social Summit.
This gives the opportunity to discuss the challenges of recovery and the social dimension of EMU with social partners at EU level.
