Barricades have been erected around Government buildings this afternoon amid an anti-immigrant protest.
Kildare Street and Molesworth Street have been sealed off and there is a significant garda presence – including a helicopter hovering over the area.
Around 100 people have gathered near Molesworth Street protesting what they say are decisions being made about local communities without consultation of residents.
Some protestors said these decisions include immigration, with some of the banners on display stating: “No illegal unvetted men welcome here”.

Gardaí have been searching protestors before letting them get close to Leinster House, while they’ve also searched the bags of some journalists before they enter Government Buildings.
TDs, senators, staff and journalists have also been advised by Oireachtas authorities not to drive to Leinster House.
Thirteen people were arrested at a similar protest in September, and security sources said some of the same individuals would be attending today’s protests.
