Batman’s rubber body suit has been named the greatest superhero outfit.

The caped crusader’s black armour, with its distinctive horned helmet, triumphed in a poll for Lovefilm.

Second place went to the gadget-packed Iron Man costume worn by Robert Downey Jr.

Thor – as played by Chris Hemsworth came third.
