A video of BBC journalist Firas Khatib being assaulted live on air while reporting near Gaza, has emerged.

Khatib was reporting from the Israeili border on Tuesday, when the incident occurred. 

In the video, Khatib is attacked by an Israeli man who rushes onto screen and shoves him before shouting, "you son of a bitch". 

The assailant is immediately apprehended by security while Khatib tries to remain calm and tells the camera to cut off.
