A Belfast hotel has launched a new cocktail - with an eyewatering price tag of £1,000 or approximately €1,200.
The Merchant hotel describes the pricey tipple as a "once-in-a-lifetime experience" and a "masterpiece of Irish whiskey".
The new cocktail menu launched at the Merchant Hotel includes cocktails crafted with rare whiskeys by Midleton, Macallan and Michter's - which start at £785 and go up to £1,000.
The Midleton Foret de Troncais (£1,000) is the most expensive cocktail, described as "a masterpiece of Irish whiskey, aged in rare French Troncais oak casks and delivering elegant notes of honey, toasted almonds and delicate spice".

The cocktail is served with Antica Formula and Dubonnet.
The hotel won a spot in the Guiness Book of Records back in 2007 for the world's most expensive cocktail with its £750 Mai Tai.
However, Melbourne, Australia now firmly holds that record – with a cocktail sold in 2013 costing £8,583.
