Bertie Ahern's former constituency headquarters in St Luke's, Drumcondra, north Dublin has been formally signed over to the Fianna Fáil party.

The party has issued a statement this evening confirming that the process agreed with the trustees of the building has been completed this week.

The office, so closely associated with the former Taoiseach's career in politics, was stripped of its contents earlier this year.

That included the removal of a safe in which Mr Ahern kept cash when he had no bank accounts.
