Bewley's Cafe in Dublin city centre is to reopen by August 27th.
Management announced in May that the Grafton Street café would close with the loss of 110 jobs.
The financial impact of the COVID-19 crisis and rents of €1.5 million per year were believed to have been factors in the owners' decision to close the café.
However, the company operating the café have now confirmed they'll now start reopening on a phased basis by the end of August.
Coffee and bakery products will be served first, followed by a 'wide café offering' at a later date.
In a statement, Col Campbell of Bewley’s said: "We’re thrilled that the team who made Bewley’s such a wonderful place, will once again bring the Bewley’s experience alive with customers, albeit on a phased basis initially.
"Further areas of the café will be opened in the weeks ahead in line with customer demand.
"We have no further details to share now but full details will be unveiled in the coming weeks and this evening we are delighted to share this good news about the future of the café with the team and with Bewley’s lovers alike.”
They say the roster for the reopened café will be filled by 'experienced' staff.
The Irish Times earlier this week reported that the operators of Bewley's had agreed to pay their landlord rent arrears on the property, as well as other costs.
