The all-female reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise already has a stellar cast that's sure to bring in crowds, but there's no harm in adding a decent cameo here and there.

That's something director Paul Feig already took care of already when it was revealed that Dan Aykroyd was on board, but today it seems that Bill Murray would also be joining him in making a brief on-screen appearance.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Murray's presence is confirmed, despite his long reported reluctance to get involved in anything related to the franchise in recent years.

Murray starred as Dr. Peter Venkmann in the previous movies, and while he often said in interviews that he was very happy with the first installment, he was not so pleased with the sequel, and flat out refused the idea of doing a third movie. However, Feig's reboot is definitely taking a different spin on things, and it seems to have been enough to change his mind and get him back on board, at least for a cameo.

There are precious few details available from THR's report bar that his appearance is confirmed, but it appears unlikely that he will be reprising his previous role. We know so far that Chris Hemsworth is going to play a receptionist, so perhaps a similarly interesting role awaits Murray in the movie, which is due out in July 2016.
