Billy Kelleher has been re-elected as MEP for Ireland South.
The Fianna Fáil candidate passed the quota on the 18th count.
Outgoing Green Party MEP Grace O’Sullivan has also lost her seat and her transfers will be re-distributed among independent Michael McNamara, Sinn Féin’s Kathleen Funchion, incumbent Mick Wallace and Fianna Fáil’s Cynthia Ní Mhurchú.
Fine Gael’s Seán Kelly was declared elected on the first count and, following Mr Kelleher’s election, the remaining three seats need to be filled.
The sprawling Ireland South constituency covers the whole of Munster, as well as the Leinster counties of Wicklow, Wexford, Carlow and Kilkenny.
