The bodies of two men found dead in Letterkenny have been identified as father and son.
Gardaí were alerted at 2 o’clock in the afternoon and when they arrived at the property, they found the two bodies in separate locations.
Post-mortem examinations have yet to take place but Gardaí believe they died violently and it could be a case of murder and suicide.
The area has since been sealed off as a crime scene.
Councillor Gerry McMonagle told Highland Radio:
“I’m very shocked at what I’ve just been hearing. The news has just filtered in through that two men have been caught dead there… If anyone has any information at all or can assist the Gardaí with their inquiries then, I would ask them to get in contact with the Gardaí.
“It’s just unfolding and we’re just starting to get information about it.
“It’s very tragic. It’s all the more tragic for the time of year that we’re in.”
