An investigation is underway after the bodies of a woman and her infant boy were discovered in Dublin.
At around 3:45am, gardaí discovered the body of a woman in her 30s at Lower Road, Strawberry Beds in Lucan.
It came following reports of a pedestrian seen acting suspiciously on the M50 toll plaza bridge.
Shortly after, officers went to a house in Lucan where a 7-month-old baby boy was found in an unresponsive condition.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
It's understood the woman found dead was the infant's mother and was in her 30s.
The body of the infant has been taken to Crumlin Hospital, while the woman's body has been removed to the City Morgue.
Post-mortem exams will take place, which will determine the course of the investigation.
Gardaí say they're treating the incidents as a family tragedy and are not seeking anyone else in connection with the deaths.
