Gardai have confirmed a body found in Wexford yesterday is that of missing Stacia Purcell. The 66-year-old woman had been missing from the New Ross area for over a week.
Meanwhile Gardai in Cork say they are not treating as suspicious the death of a man who was found at a house in Cloyne yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon at around 2pm the body of a woman was found in a tributary of the River Barrow near New Ross.
Gardaí sealed off the scene and removed the remains to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem examination was carried out.
They confirmed earlier that the body was that of missing woman Stacia Purcell.
The 66-year-old had been missing for over a week after she went for a walk on the night of October 30th.
Meanwhile gardai say the death of a man in his 70s in Cloyne in Co. Cork is not being treated as suspicious.
A post mortem was concluded today and confirmed that no foul play was involved.
