Gardai have identified a body found off west Cork on Monday as that of one of two Dutch friends who went missing when walking on the Sheep's Head Peninsula last Saturday.
Gardai are satisfied that the body found near Eskeraha on the Sheep's Head Peninsula on Monday is that of Othman Rahmouni (33) from Amsterdam.
He was visiting Cork with his friend, Roland Deckers, whose family have a holiday home in the area.
Confirmation of the identity of Mr. Rahmouni comes as searchers will assess the weather conditions in the area before deciding whether to search today for Mr. Deckers.
Meanwhile the parents and sister of Mr. Deckers, along with Mr. Rahmouni's two brothers, arrived in Cork yesterday to be briefed on the operation.
