/> Emergency services searching for a man who got into difficulty while swimming in North Cork this evening, have recovered a body from the water.
A search operation was launched in Mallow, shortly before six o’clock this evening, when a young man in his late teens or early twenties, got into difficulty while swimming with a group of friends in the River Blackwater near the town’s Railway Bridge.
Efforts were made to try and rescue him – but his body was taken from the river just before 7 o’clock this evening.

Authorities say they’re treating the incident as a tragic accident.
