A body has been recovered in the search for a missing kayaker off the coast of County Waterford.
A man in his 60s was reported missing yesterday after he left Helvick Head in Dungarvan at around 11:40am.
When he failed to return to port, a search operation was launched around 5:30 pm yesterday.
Local coastguard and lifeboat units, along with the Rescue 117 helicopter, took part in the mission, with search efforts coordinated by the on-site naval vessel LÉ Aoibhinn.
A spokesperson for the Department of Transport has now confirmed the search has been stood down following the discovery of a man's body this morning.
