There are warnings about water supplies in counties Limerick and Clare.
Clare County Council are to provide water tanks in areas affected by water shortages following the storm yesterday.
Supplies have been disrupted across the county as a result of extensive power outages, which are causing problems at pumping stations.
Householders are being advised to check the Council website for updates on their area.
While in Limerick a 'boil water' notice has been issued amid fears that water supplies have not been sufficiently treated because of electricity problems at treatment plants.
As many as 90,000 people are said to be impacted by the move.
Residents in Limerick city and surrounding suburbs are not affected.
Tom Tarpey is a senior engineer with Limerick County Council. He says the notice will be in place for the rest of today.
