Longford County Council has confirmed that books of condolence will be opened in memory of former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds.
One will open at the County Council offices in the town from later this afternoon, and a second will be available at Longford's library.
Mr Reynolds served as a TD for the Longford–Westmeath constituency before and after his time as Taoiseach.
Members of the public will also be able to sign a book of condolence for Mr Reynolds at the Fianna Fáil's party headquarters in Dublin today.
The book has been open at the offices on Lower Mount Street from 9 o'clock this morning, and the public can sign until 5pm.
Mr Reynolds's body will lie in repose at the Mansion House in Dublin tomorrow.
The former Taoiseach's State Funeral will take place in Donnybrook on Monday. It will be followed by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery in Shankill, Co Dublin.
Yesterday President Michael D Higgins said Albert Reynolds will be remembered as a leader with courage.
Mr Reynolds, who was born in Rooskey in Co Roscommon, had been battling Alzheimers in recent years.
