The funeral is taking place of one of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. Emergency services have formed a guard of honour at the funeral of 29-year-old Krystle Campbell. She was among 3 killed last Monday.

People in the city are preparing to hold a moment silence this evening exactly a week after the two explosions to remember those who died.

Police are also preparing charges against a teenager suspected of planting the devices last week as he reportedly starts to answer detectives' questions.

Reports say police there are preparing to charge Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who remains in hospital and that he has started responding to questions in writing.

Meanwhile officers also want to speak to his brother's wife - Katherine - as they try to work out a motive for the attacks.

The Boston Medical Centre is still treating 11 people caught up in the explosions while one is critical.

Professor Terence Keane says their rehab will be a long process.

"It will take months for people to recover" he said. "For those people who are in rehabilitation the importance is to integrate mental health services, behavioural health services into the process" he added.
