The major parties have been making their final appeals to voters ahead of the referendum tomorrow on the abolition of the Seanad.

Polls open at 7am tomorrow morning but the national broadcast moratorium is now in place.

Polling in the referendum on the Seanad - and in the referendum on creating a new Court of Appeal - continues until 10pm tomorrow night.

The Fine Gael campaign director Richard Bruton has been telling voters that the Seanad is an expensive waste of time.

However Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin reckons the No campaign still has a real chance of victory.
