A boy has been killed after being hit by a tractor in Co. Kerry.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene at Beaufort Bridge at around 7.30 last night.
The boy who had been walking in the area at the time was hit by the tractor and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to University Hospital Kerry where a post mortem will be carried out.
The driver of the tractor - a man aged in his 20's - wasn't hurt in the collision.
The road has been closed and will be examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators today.
Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and especially want to hear from anyone in the Beaufort Bridge between 7 and 7.45 pm last night who may have camera footage.
