The Boy Scouts of America have called for an end to their ban on gay members.

The resolution states "no youth may be denied membership on the basis of sexual orientation or preference alone" and will be put to a vote by its council members next month. 

The decision comes after research involving leaders and parents who were asked, 'if it's okay for straight and gay scouts to share a tent'.
