Bray has been named one of the world's most 'underrated travel destinations' by a leading publication.
TimeOut has put the Wicklow seaside town on the list of must-see global destinations for the second time.
The town of Filandia in Colombia topped the list with others including Cabo Rojo in Puerto Rico, the Greek island of Karpathos and Tasmania in Australia.
TimeOut notes that Bray's "mile-long Victorian seafront now buzzes with cafés and restaurants".
"Stroll from the harbour along the esplanade to the 800-foot high Bray Head, worth the hour’s climb for panoramic views from its rocky summit," it says.
"Refuel at Butler & Barry on the beach, before a Guinness at ace local institution the Harbour Bar."
Branding the seaside town as "the Brighton of Ireland", it says its popularity stems from "the arrival of the railway in 1854".
Eugene Finnegan of Bray Tourism says the placement, at number 24 on the list, is great news for the town.
"Being acknowledged again by Time Out is a testament to Bray's enduring appeal," he said.
"The support from the Bray Municipal District and Wicklow County Council has been instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the town’s amenities and public realm."
The town first appeared on the list last year but has slipped from 13th place.
