Irish women have a one-in-ten chance of developing malignant breast cancer before their 75th birthday, according to the latest figures from the National Cancer Registry.
While survival rates for breast cancer in Ireland stand at around 80%, how patients look after themselves in their recovery has led to a renewed focus on 'survivorship'.
A new mobile app called 'Breast Cancer Survivor' is now on the app store - offering advice and guidance to those recovering from cancer treatment.
It is available for both iOS and Android customers.

One of those behind the app is Professor Malcolm Kell, consultant breast surgeon at the Mater Hospital.
He told Newstalk Breakfast the app might not be for everybody, but can be helpful.
