Actress Pauline McLynn, who played housekeeper Mrs Doyle on the TV comedy show Father Ted – has begun designing, knitting and selling tea cosies.

Dubbed ‘The Go Ons’, they are available to buy through McLynn’s website and will set you back between 50 – to – 90 euro.

They take their name from Mrs Doyle’s well-known catchphrase “Ah, go on, go on …”

And even though some may say 90 euro is a bit steep for a tea cosie, the Shameless star says who get what you pay for:
