A judge in Britain has taken indefinite leave after a racist comment he allegedly made about a crime victim in court.
Richard Hollingworth apparently said the woman would not have a problem getting to court at short notice because 'with a name like Patel, she won't be working anywhere important'.
Deepa Patel (22) - whose ex-boyfriend was later jailed for harassment - has described the comments as 'disgusting'.
A spokesman says Mr Hollingworth is 'currently refraining from all judicial duties'.
The comment is alleged to have been made at a procedural hearing on October 30th at Preston Magistrates Court.
It is believed the UK Judicial Conduct Investigations Office is now investigating.
