Britons have "lost the plot" if they think RTÉ should broadcast the Queen's funeral.
Yesterday, the presenter of The Hard Shoulder told listeners what he really thinks of Ireland's national state broadcaster to show Monday's service.
"Broadcasting the Queen's funeral? Give me an actual break", he said.
"This is beyond the pale surely."
Taxpayer money
For Kieran, it's financing the spectacle that is the real issue.
"Using taxpayers' money to broadcast the queen's funeral - is that really what our license fee is going towards?"
"It's legitimate to give out about the license fee if this is what they're spending the bloody money on."
From 10:30am on Monday, RTÉ will broadcast live from Westminster providing footage and commentary on the state funeral.
Northern Ireland
As a partitioned island, there are many people in the North who consider themselves subjects of the British monarch, but Kieran said they will be watching the event on the BBC, not RTÉ.
"It's been a long time since Britannia ruled the waves, but apparently there are those who still yearn for empire."
"And some of them walk amongst us. Some of them are over in Donnybrook. They are in Montrose, to be precise", Kieran said.
"Lots of Brits have lost the plot over the last few days and it's easy to sneer at them, but this is beyond the pale."
He claims to have no issue with how British people celebrate and commemorate their Queen with their own money.
"She's not our Queen, so I don't know why we're spending our money putting it on our national broadcaster."
