British broadcaster Stuart Hall has been described by prosecutors as an "opportunistic predator". The 83-year-old has admitted 14 charges of indecently assaulting girls aged between 9 and 17.
The offences involved 13 girls over a 19-year period from 1967. The attacks took place from 1967 to 1986.
He will be sentenced in June. His barrister apologised on his behalf at Preston Crown Court saying "he is only too aware his disgrace is complete".
Hall joined the BBC in 1959 as a general reporter and sports journalist. He was suspended from that role in December 2012.
The broadcaster admitted the offences at a hearing last month but this is only allowed to be reported now.
Nazir Afzal from the Crown Prosecution Service says almost all of the victims provided strikingly similar accounts.
