Bruce Springsteen ‘has an affinity’ with Ireland, according to the operator of his Croke Park gig later this year.
‘The Boss’ will be playing in the home of GAA on May 19th, the last of a run of four gigs in Ireland that includes dates in Belfast, Kilkenny, and Cork.
At a press briefing today, Aiken Promotions head of operations Shane Mates said the 74-year-old rockstar can’t get enough of Ireland.
“It’s been 40 years now since he’s been coming here,” he said.
“He and the band love being here and long may they continue to come here.
“He has an affinity to these shores, it’s his second home.”
Croke Park stadium director Peter McKenna said he is one of the “great acts”.
“We’re really looking forward to seeing one of the greatest acts,” he said.
“He’s starting at seven o’clock and there’s no back-up.
“The man, I don’t know where he gets his energy from, but he’ll give it everything, that’s for sure - it will be a great night for all those who are here.”

The stadium is set to open at 5pm on the day and the public is being urged not to bring their cars into the city, but to avail of public transport instead.
The music is set to begin at 7pm and is expected to last for three hours.
The public is being asked to respect the residents and their property on May 19th – and a resident liaison officer has been appointed to manage their concerns.
Bruce Springsteen last played in Dublin in May 2023, with three sell-out gigs at the RDS.
His European tour that year sold over 1.6 million tickets.
