Joan Burton says she thinks Sinn Féin has no desire to be in government - and accused them of pulling "stunts" in the Dáil.
The Tanaiste was reacting to yesterday's events, where the Dail was suspended three times in a row between Sinn Féin and the Ceann Comhairle.
Sinn Féin refused to let Dáil business continue until the Tánaiste withdrew claims linking a serial child abuser to the Republican movement.
In Cork this afternoon, Joan Burton said if Sinn Féin were in government, they would only end up “walking out on themselves.”
“Yesterday’s (disruption) was just an outrageous waste of time in relation to a very sensitive and important issue, in respect of people who have been subject to abuse,” she said.
“ I was just very upset that such an issue like that would be raised without any prior notification.”
