A Mercedes Benz car and €5,000 in cash have been seized during a Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) search of a house in Co Louth.
CAB officers were assisted by the Garda Emergency Response Unit, the Revenue Customs Dog Unit and a property valuation expert.
This morning's search came as part of an investigation targeting assets linked to a Moldovan organised crime gang suspected of being heavily involved in the sale and supply of illicit drugs.
As well as the cash and the Mercedes Benz C200 coupe (171 registration), officers also seized electronic devices, documents and banking records.
CAB says it has also secured a court restraining order in respect of around €30,000 in a financial institution.
In a statement, CAB said: "This morning’s Criminal Assets Bureau search operation is a significant development in the identification of assets, including property, linked to the organised crime group and acquired with the proceeds of crime.
"In particular the investigation is focused on the purchase and extensive re-development of the residential property that is being searched today."
