class="MsoNormal">A number of items are on the agenda including a new national waste policy and a review of a report on the state of child protection in Ireland.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">As this is the last Cabinet meeting before the Autumn term Ministers will discuss a number of items on a busy agenda.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">They will consider changes to the Freedom of Information Act.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">Proposals to abolish a number of town councils will also be discussed as will a new national waste policy from the Environment Minister.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">Phil Hogan is expected to recommend that private waste collectors continue to be allowed to operate freely in the market contrary to commitments made in the Programme for Government.
class="MsoNormal">
class="MsoNormal">And the Cabinet will later get a chance to review the 5th Annual Report of the Special Rapporteur on Child Protection.

class="MsoNormal">The report by Mr. Geoffrey Shannon has already been circulated to a number of government departments over recent months for their observations.
