There are calls for a major cut in the salary of the head of Amnesty International Ireland during the organisation's annual Conference which opens in Dublin this morning.
There will be a motion looking for a cut of €64,000 in the Chief Executive's pay.
Delegates will be asked if they think Colm O'Gorman's wage of €99,000 a year should be cut to the average staff wage, which is €35,000 per year.

The motion has been put forward by Amnesty member, Kieran O'Sullivan, who insists that action is needed to restore the public’s confidence in the voluntary sector.
