A member of the Dáil Technical Group says he wouldd rather Luke 'Ming' Flanagan walked away from the arrangement. It follows the Roscommon TD admitting his actions in having penalty points quashed were corrupt.
Deputy Flanagan admitted in the Dáil last Tuesday that he twice had penalty points struck off after he was caught using his mobile while driving.
However the Deputy has said he does not believe it is a resigning matter.
Under Dáil rules he cannot be forced out of the Technical Group. The group is a mechanism to allow independent TDs have speaking time.
But Waterford TD John Halligan says he would rather Deputy Flanagan just left.
