A district-attorney in the US state of Massachusetts has asked to 'move to Ireland' over the unrest in her country.
Rachael Rollins is the district-attorney of Suffolk County, and the first woman of colour to serve as a Massachusetts DA.
She told The Hard Shoulder she was embarrassed by the first US presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
President Trump and Mr Biden began the debate with heated exchanges over coronavirus, race relations and election integrity.
The two men frequently interrupted each other with angry interjections - with Mr Biden eventually snapping at his opponent: "Will you shut up, man?"
When the topic of the coronavirus pandemic came up, Mr Biden questioned Mr Trump's leadership, suggesting: "He panicked or he looked at the stock market.
"A lot of people died and a lot more are going to die unless he gets a lot smarter, a lot quicker."
Mr Trump objected to Mr Biden using the word "smart", arguing: "You graduated either the lowest or almost the lowest in your class. Don't ever use the word smart with me. Don't ever use that word."
Reacting to this, Ms Rollins said: "Can I move to Ireland, please?" - "I'm sort of joking".
"But when I watched our presidential debate I was embarrassed, I was embarrassed about the level of discord that we have.
"I think the moderator was awful - forget about both men - moderators matter.
"If you can't control what is happening, the the American people were failed that evening.
"I do believe this is who our president is: he interrupts, he is a bully.
"I don't believe honestly, if I'm candid, that Biden did nearly as well as he could have.
"I think he missed several softball opportunities."
"I'm not proud of some of the things that Vice-President Biden said - as much as you might want to swear or tell somebody to shut up: there were children watching this.
"We don't behave that way - whether you sit in silence and say 'Can I finish? Mr Moderator are you being paid to do a job today, cause you're failing'.
"I felt tired after watching it, I felt like it was an assault on our senses.
"In particular some of the comments he made: President Trump was able to wiggle out and not even answer some really important questions that undecided individuals needed answers to".
