Gardaí investigating the cultivation of cannabis in the Kerry area have seized cannabis plants worth around €160,000.

Gardaí from the Kanturk Drug Unit carried out a planned search of a house near Rathmore last night.

Around 200 cannabis plants at various stages of growth were discovered and the scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.
