Cannabis worth an estimated €12,000 has been seized in Galway as part of a joint Garda and Revenue operation.

Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Galway Drugs Unit were involved in the operation yesterday.

A house in the Galway area was searched, and around 800 grams of herbal cannabis were discovered.

Gardaí arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the operation.

He is being held at Mill St Garda Station in Galway under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
