An Irish financial services firm has pledged to create 250 new jobs in the south east over the next three years.

The Carne Group is opening a new financial services centre in Wexford with recruitment underway for 50 “highly-skilled” positions.

It has also pledged to further expansion and recruitment at its Kilkenny centre, with a total of 250 new positions in the south east region by 2021.

The Wexford Centre is looking to fill multiple positions in risk management, compliance and operations as well as IT Developers, IT Architects, Data Miners, Cyber Security experts, financial crime specialists and Business Analysts.

Group CEO John Donohoe said: “The demand for our next generation technology and risk driven asset management solutions continues to drive rapid growth across the entire Group.”

“The expansion of our Kilkenny financial services centre and the opening of our new financial services centre in Wexford reflects this,” he said.

The Minister of State with responsibility for Defence Paul Kehoe described the Carne Group as a “company with global ambition.”

“Carne [has] experienced significant growth over a number of years and is an outstanding ambassador for Irish financial services; serving clients in London, Europe and New York, and indeed in emerging markets in the Far East and the Americas.

“The company’s investment in the South East region and Wexford in particular shows its commitment to the local area and its talented workforce.”

The company said recruitment for the first 50 new positions is already underway.
